Architectural Bionics

IN VARIOUS COUNTRIES OF THE WORLD QUITE AT THE SAME TIME THERE WAS BORN AN ARCHITECTURAL MOVEMENT UNDER THE SLOGAN "TOWARDS THE LIVE NATURE". THE HISTORY TESTIFIES THAT NATIONAL CRAFTSMEN HAVE ALWAYS ASKED ITS ADVICE, LET IT BE A BEAUTIFUL FORM OF A FLOWER, SCALES OF A PINE-CONE OR A WAVY FORM OF A SHELL

NOWADAYS ARCHITECTS ARMED WITH NEW KNOWLEDGE AND TECHNICAL MEANS PENETRATE INTO THE MISTERIES OF THE LIVE NATURE, SEEK FOR THE PRINCIPLES OF CO-ORDINATION AMONG ITS PARTS, THEIR MOVEMENT AND INTERACTION, CONNEXION OF THE FUNCTION AND FORM, RIGIDITY AND RELIABILITY. THEY ARE EXCITED ABOUT CONTINUITY OF SPACE AND LAWS OF ITS HARMONY. OWING TO USE OF THESE LAWS THERE COMES INTO BEING A NEW MOBILE ARCHITECTURE UNKNOWN UP TO NOW AND THERE APPEARS NEW PLASTIC ARTS AND AESTHETICS.

IN THE USSR BEGINNING FROM 1950/1960-S THESE QUESTIONS ARE BEING DEALT WITH BY THE TREND CALLED ARCHITECTURAL BIONICS. SOME OF ITS ACTIVE PARTICIPANTS ARE THE AUTHORS OF THIS BOOK. IN GFR (GERMAN FEDERAL REPUBLIC) APPROXIMATELY IN THOSE YEARS THERE WAS FORMED A SIMILAR TREND WHICH WAS NAMED "NATUREWISE CONSTRUCTION" IT WAS HEADED BY FRY OTTO, THE NOTORIOUS ARCHITECTURE THEORIST AND PRACTICAL SCHOLAR IN THE USA PAOLO SOLERY FORMED ARCHOLOGY; IN YUGOSLAVIA ANDREY MOUTNYAKOVITCH PROCLAIMED BIOURBANISM; IN BULGARIA, CZECHOSLOVAKIA AND GDR (GERMAN DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC) ARCHITECTS MATEI MATEEV, MIKHAIL SHARAFIN AND OSCAR BUTTNER, EACH IN HIS OWN WAY, EXPRESSED IN THEIR WORK THEIR ATTITUDE TO THE LIVE NATURE. ALL OF THEM ARE CO-AUTHORS OF THE BOOK BEING OFFERED, THOUGH THE CIRCLE OF EXPERTS IN THIS FIELD IS FAR FROM BEING RESTRICTED BY THE AFORENAMED ARCHITECTS. THE BOOK EMBRACES THEORETICAL, METHODOLOGICAL AND PRACTICAL TRENDS.
