The deep-sea collector model developed by the engineers could also been used to collect seabed resources. For example, algae "Laminaria", which were used by the Soviet food industry for the preparation of canned salad, popularly known as "sea kale".
Launched machine was adapted to operate at depths up to 7 km, combined with two mechanical "claws", cab with autopilot, filtration, refrigerator and a conveyor: a "tail" to deliver cargo to the surface.
Outwardly, this machine looked like a sea crustacean, resembling a lobster. According to the plan of the Ministry, dozens of such machines were to run regularly between the continents, producing hundreds of thousands of cubic meters of products and biological raw materials per day. Containers that were lifted to the surface with the help of self-propelled loaders were collected at distribution bases.
